Today

Today is Christmas. Merry Christmas to all of you.

I'm sitting at home, the sound of the dishwasher and the oven timer in the background. No pitter patter of little feet. No pitter patter of big feet. Curt is at work. The boys are spending their first Christmas away from me, with their dad. We woke them up super early, 5:30 am to be exact, so Curt could be here to see them open their Santa presents. They loved it. It was bittersweet for me. I loved watching their eyes light up when they opened the gifts. Yet I dreaded the clock ticking closer to drop off time. I managed not to cry yet today, I think I did enough of that last night. They are gone for over a week, so their gifts will all be taken out of the packages, assembled, put away and organized by the time they come back to me.

I could have spent the day with family, but with illness and the typical Iowa weather, and my weird need to be alone if I can't have my 3 guys, I opted to stay home and bake cookies to take up to the station.

I've already been up there once. I'm guessing this next trip won't be the last.

To everyone, have safe holiday, drive carefully and enjoy the time you have with your loved ones.

Oh it has been too long!

It has been far too long since I've posted anything... Sorry for all the neglect!

Everything is going fairly well on all fronts...

12 weeks pregnant and counting... Nauseated all the time... Never want to eat... Already had to buy bigger pants. I am not excited about the last part. I hate buying bigger pants. Yes. I'm pregnant, I'm going to gain weight. I get it. Doesn't mean I have to like it.

The boys are doing great... Hunter turned 5 this month - Yet another milestone that I wasn't ready for. He is so grown up it is amazing. Ian is causing trouble like always.

We had our first major snowfall... 15 inches in one shot. Ew. Have I mentioned I'm not a big snow fan? I live in Iowa. I could do without the snow. And the ice. Not a big fan of that either. Maybe I should sell it on ebay like that other guy.

On the hunting front... Curt got a new bow. I'm not quite as excited as he is, but its still fun. Gets him out of the house for awhile... Gets me some deer meat.

Went shopping crazy today... But I saved over $100! I love sales! Two new sweaters, 3 new books (two that I have wanted for over two years), new NIKEs which is always WONDERFUL, and an array of lotion because I never have enough. Please be kind enough to note the sarcasm dripping from the lotion comment. I love lotion. Body lotion, hand lotion, face lotion, foot lotion, belly lotion. Scented, unscented, any scents pretty much. I love lotion! Too bad I had to stick it ALL away until Christmas. SIGH.

Hunter wants me to add that Curt is being silly right now. I think they are all being silly right now. They were watching a hunting movie, now they are all wrestling around and tickling each other. Curt is doing some evil laugh and they boys are giggling like crazy.

And me?

I am laying on the couch. I've gotten really good at that!!

Off to watch the crazy kids chase the crazy dog and tackle crazy Curt.

Doesn't get any better.
